Unstoppable Health & Happiness for countless families across the nation
As an organization with a social conscience, Valvoline Cummins Private Limited has always striven towards improving the living conditions of its stakeholders, building a stronger ecosystem and giving back to the society at large. One such successful program has been the setting up of quality healthcare facilities – Muskaan Clinics - for truck drivers, mechanics and their families in small and medium towns across India.
The first of these clinics was set up in the Transport Nagar of Kanpur, a trucking hub in North India, in June 2015. Headed by a Project Coordinator, two Doctors, five Outreach Workers (of which three are women), the clinic is supported by five Peer Educators, equipped with medical infrastructure and a mobile clinic.
Employees of Valvoline HO & North visit the facility regularly as part of completion of EEEC, while the Cummins CSR team has appreciated the efforts and results of the facility. Today, the clinic has established excellent connect with not just the mechanics and drivers families but also the local community at large and has been catering to over 40,000 people, of which 15% are women & children.
Spurred by the success of Muskaan Clinic at Kanpur, Valvoline Cummins decided to give a greater impetus to this social initiative with four more clinics that would offer better medical care to an estimated population of 120,000 per annum, and would eventually reach 200,000 when all 5 clincis are in operation! The new ones are already up and running in Kalamboli, a Transport Hub in Mumbai on Mumbai-Pune Express Highway; and Auto Nagar in Vijayawada. Two more will soon become operational in the Transport Nagars of Kolkata and New Delhi.
Muskaan Clinics are at par with the best medical facilities in the respective localities, with quality infrastructure, staff and medical services provided. The initiative has received the wholehearted support and patronage of hundreds of fleet workers and their families. For them, Muskaan Clinics have opened the doors to a better and healthier life.
