Choosing the right coolant is essential to the long term protection of an engine cooling system. Valvoline works closely with the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers to understand the requirements of today’s engine technology. Valvoline coolants include those with Automaker Approved Chemistry™, which means the coolant chemistry is tested and proven to meet industry standards.
Valvoline have a comprehensive range of coolant products featuring approved chemistries by many leading OEMs, providing the very best in cooling system protection. Valvoline’s coolants are available in Organic Acid Technology (OAT), Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT) and Si-Organic Acid Technology (Si-OAT) formulations.
Introducing Valvoline OEM Advanced Coolants
Valvoline has recently launched new Coolants with the same performance as the rest of the Valvoline portfolio – the OEM Advanced Coolants. The decision to introduce the OEM Advanced Coolants is due to global alignment for coolant product names. These Coolants offer the same performance as the Valvoline Zerex G-05, G-40, G-48 and HD Coolant 50 products but will feature different labels. We will first offer our remaining stock of Valvoline Zerex G-05, G-40, G-48 and HD Coolant 50 coolants before switching to Valvoline OEM Advanced 05, 40 and 48 coolants. The formulations remain unchanged and these products will deliver the superior cooling system protection that you expect from Valvoline. How To Choose The Right Coolant For Your Workshop
Coolant suppliers use a variety of terms and language to qualify their products in relation to OEM applications and industry specifications. Be sure to understand the level of research, investment and scrutiny that goes into each designation. As a reference, below are three definitions you should be aware of for Coolant specifications:
1. Approved – Coolant has undergone extensive testing and has been awarded official approval by the engine manufacturer (OEM). This involves years of research and testing with significant investment to ensure the customer is provided with genuine fluid for a specific application. Refer to the Valvoline PI Sheet for OEM Approvals for each product in the Valvoline range of Coolants.
2. Meets or Exceeds – Coolant has undergone significant required testing by the fluid manufacturer to meet the engine OEM fluid specifications.
3. Recommends – Coolant is recommended by the manufacturer based on chemistry and industry standard data.
In an incredibly competitive market, workshops are presented with a wide variety of choices when it comes to Coolant. Valvoline Coolants are designed to meet or exceed the unique needs of each individual OEM application.
