Brickyard 400 Preview - Matt Kenseth

Kenseth on racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway:
“Indy ranks right up there as one of the races you’d like to win during your career. We were fortunate enough to win the Daytona 500 last year and when you look at races that people want to have wins in it’s the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400.  We’ve been close to a win a few times over the years, and we’ve been really competitive. We also have had some problems there a couple of times, but we’ve always ran pretty good.  I always feel like we have a shot to win when we go there, and it’s certainly one we’d like to pull off this weekend.  We’ve had some tough outings lately, but I can’t think of a better place to go get our season back on track than Indianapolis.”

Crew chief Jimmy Fennig on racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway:
“Indianapolis is one of the races that I’ve always wanted to win because of the history associated with motorsports at that track.  We’re taking a brand new race car this weekend so I have high hopes that it performs well.  Matt runs really well at Indy and he’s had a lot of strong runs there.  The thing that makes it difficult to win at Indy is that it’s difficult to pass there since the track is so narrow.  We’ll spend the first hour of practice in race trim and then the second hour of practice and work on qualifying trim and see where the car is at.”
