Magnum Force
Performance West Group's 2005 Dodge Magnum
Created by Harvey SchwartzAre you ready for a ride on the wild side in the 2005 PWG Dodge Magnum "Magnum Force"? Magnum Force is Performance West Group's (PWG) red-hot interpretation of Dodge's new sport wagon. Drawing inspiration from its race-bred relative, the Dodge Viper GTS/R concept, Magnum Force features a dramatic restyling package and paint scheme that matches its heart-stopping good looks with heart-pounding performance.
The PWG 2005 Dodge Magnum "Magnum Force" made its debut at the 2004 SEMA show (Specialty Equipment Manufacturer Association), the once-a-year automotive aftermarket trade show that brings together, in early November, all the companies from around the world that manufacturer products that consumers purchase to personalize and enhance their vehicles after the initial purchase. More than 1,500 customized cars, trucks, hot rods and classic vehicles were on display inside and outside the 2-million sq.-ft. Las Vegas Convention Center.
Performance
The Magnum Force excitement begins the instant you twist the key in the dashboard mounted ignition switch and awaken the Kenne Bell enhanced HEMI V8 with 16 Denso Iridium spark plugs. The HEMI's sweet, throaty exhaust note comes through a low restriction custom dual exhaust system by Doug's Headers. The Magnum Force balances tire-smoking power with a race-tuned suspension engineered by Hotchkis Performance. Hotchkis Performance lowered the front and rear 11/4 in. with their custom lowering springs and custom hollow sway bars, 17/16 in. front and 3/4 in. in the rear. It now handles like a Viper GTS/R.
Insuring fade free stops from high speed are Stainless Steel Brakes' Tri-Power billet calipers mated to 12.5-in. slotted and ventilated rotors. Rolling stock was upgraded with a set of 22x10-in. two-piece forged wheels from Oasis Alloy Wheels. These gorgeous, five-spoke wheels are wrapped by Dunlop P285/30R22 SP Sport 9000 high-performance radial tires for excellent grip and traction.
Viper Red
The Viper themed exterior is smothered in dazzling Viper Red Glasurit 55 Line by BASF, accented with silver pearl Le Mans stripes artfully applied by Mike Face Custom Paint. Mike also customized the unique front fascia. The restyling package is by RK Sport and consists of a custom fiberglass Viper GTS/R racing hood with scoop and blisters, custom diamond wire grille, carbon fiber front air dam, rear air ducts and a rear wing. RK Sport also made a custom carbon fiber engine cover for the HEMI V8.
Johnson Window Film was used to darken the side and rear glass for extra privacy, and a giant 3x4-ft. Inalfa Panorama electric moonroof was installed to let in extra air and light from above as desired.
Inside, the race-inspired cockpit features a Katzkin custom leather and suede interior, four-point harnesses by Summit Racing, real carbon fiber accents on the door trim and dashboard by Woodview, racing style aluminum pedal pads by Ichibahn, and racing style silver reflective floor surfacing by Little John.
Street Lethal
Add it all up and you've got the Dodge Magnum Force, the street lethal sport wagon. Armed with nothing less than a ground pounding enhanced HEMI V8 engine, it's complemented by a chassis with just the right mix of components to harness its power and performance. The Magnum Force looks like a wolf in wolfs clothing, because it is. This is one vehicle that speaks loudly and carries a big stick. Mess with the Magnum Force at your own risk.
Only three awards for design are awarded at the SEMA show, and the PWG 2005 Dodge Magnum "Magnum Force" drove away with the prestigious Chrysler Design Excellence Award. Congratulations to PWG on a job well done.
